Grown, picked, pressed and prepared within yards of Gary’s studio, Primulas in an oval captures the beauty of nature and gently holds contrasting primulas between two clear panes of glass, allowing the purples, violets, whites, and yellows to recall spring days. The transparent nature of the form enables the flower’s front and back to be viewed, combining aesthetic pleasure and naturalistic harmony with the fragility of the preserved petals.
Primulas in an oval is created from hand-cut clear glass, framed with lead solder and hung by a blue ribbon from the top edge. A permanent reminder of spring past and spring yet to come.
