Designed and created during the long, hot summer of 2022, Bone Idle comprises a small glass panel set in a mahogany-coloured wooden frame. It is created with red, blue, yellow, and green coloured glass with each piece hand cut and held in place with 4mm, 5mm or 6mm lead came.
Bone Idle depicts a convalescing woman reading a newspaper whilst reclining on a sun lounger beneath an azure sky. She is wearing a yellow sunhat and has a post-operative foot elevated and protected against inadvertent contact. A languid scene belies discomfort and the afternoon’s torrid heat.
